It’s a French word — you say it “ter-wah” — but in Daylesford, Victoria it resonates with the philosophy of our inviting bistro. We want our customers to feel like our friends, they are a vital part of our terroir.
At the heart of our bistro is Chef/Owner Matthew Carnell. Bistro Terroir brings Matthew’s accomplished skills, including as a chef at a Michelin 2 Star restaurant in France, to Daylesford.
Matthew has a passion for local food and drinks, combined with exceptional chef abilities and an innate sense of the whole dining experience. Over the past decade, Matthew has collected an impressive array of food, wine, produce and restaurant experience as well as many awards. Having seen the bright lights; now is Matthews time to connect with the local community and share fine French bistro style food, in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.

Bistro Terroir is once again open for dine-in lunch and dinner, and now also French-style breakfast.
Drop in for breakfast from 7am till 1pm every day except Tuesday. We have espresso coffee, teas, OJ, house-made pastries and jaffles with delicious French fillings. Hepburn shire locals receive a discount on their coffees.
Dinner is served Thursday through Sunday; Lunch Saturday and Sunday; Takeaway Monday and Wednesday, with pick up from 3pm till 6pm.
